Quilore Request your data

Step 1 of 2

Request the right file.

Spotify offers two exports and almost everyone ticks the wrong one. The wrong file holds about a year of data and no listening times. This page exists so you do not wait two weeks for a file that will not work.

Wrong option

Account data

A summary of your Spotify account information.

Account data

Contains your profile, follows, playlists and roughly the last year of listening. Timestamps are included, but the format is a simplified summary rather than the raw stream.

Extended streaming history

Extended streaming history

Contains every stream since your account was created, with the exact milliseconds played for each one. This is the raw data, and it is the only export Quilore can read.

How to request it

How to request it

  1. 1

Open your Spotify account privacy settings

Any browser works, including the one on your phone. It is the Spotify app that has no data request, so a browser is the only route in. These five steps stay open here while you work through them.

    Open Spotify privacy settings

spotify.com, opens in a new tab. You sign in to Spotify, never to Quilore.

  2. 2

    Scroll to “Download your data”

You will see two checkboxes. The first is labelled “Account data”. The second is labelled “Extended streaming history”.

  3. 3

    Tick only “Extended streaming history”

Ticking both is harmless: it just produces an extra zip that Quilore ignores. Ticking only “Account data” is the mistake.

This is the single step where almost everyone goes wrong.

  4. 4

Click “Request data” and confirm by email

Spotify sends a confirmation email. Click the link inside it. Without that step the request never starts.

  5. 5

    Wait five to fourteen days

Spotify processes the request on their own timeline and there is no way to speed it up. When the file is ready they send a second email with a download link.

After you request

Now you wait.

Five to fourteen days. We do not ask for your email address. Come back when you have the file, and if you want a nudge we can build a calendar event for you here in the browser.

Set a reminder

A .ics file, made in this tab. Your calendar app, not ours.

Common questions

Common questions

Can I request both options?
Yes. Ticking both is harmless. Quilore only ever reads the extended streaming history files, and the account data zip can be ignored or deleted.
Does it matter which country my account is registered in?
No. The export is available under the GDPR and equivalent laws worldwide, and the file format is the same regardless of region.
I requested it before. Can I use that file?
Yes, as long as it contains the extended streaming history. Check that the zip includes files named Streaming_History_Audio_*.json. If it does, it will work.
What if the link in the Spotify email has expired?
Spotify’s download links expire after a few days. If yours has, request the export again from the same privacy settings page. The process is identical.
